Is she just looking for a ticket out of Russia?

Well this is certainly the biggest worry for men looking for a Russian wife. There is no easy answer to this question, just make sure your eyes are open, it is so easy to let your heart take control that your brain is sidelined and you miss all the signs that something is not right. Of course here at With Love From Voronezh we have tried to make sure that all of our ladies are genuinely looking for love, not a green card. But we are not infallible, we do everything we can to avoid this situation. We stay in touch with our girls regularly and get to know them, that is the best way we can try and protect you and is streets ahead of virtually all of our competitors. None of our girls will ever ask you for money, anyone breaking this Golden Rule (never happened in all the years we have been working) would be immediately removed from our agency. No self respecting girl would ask a man she has never met for money, that’s not the Russian character. If I suspect a girls motives I will tell you immediately, we do not tolerate such things at all !!!!

What's the economic situation in Russia like?

Russia is very much a country of the have and have not's. The economy is booming, the country is awash with oil money, but this wealth is cantered on the few elite, those with contacts in the government etc etc. For your average person, the situation here is rather grim. Here in Voronezh, a doctor earns approx. $70-100 per month, a nurse $50. Private sector employees earn more, a sales assistant will earn about $200 - $225 per month while a bank worker has approx. $400 per month, but such jobs are hard to come by. Everything is so expensive sometimes I just do not know how people cope, prices rise constantly. Russian people have tremendous character, anyone who doubts that just has to see how these people deal with their circumstances, circumstances that a Western person just could not imagine.

Why should I use an agency that I have to pay for when there are free agencies ?

Sounds like a great idea, but watch out for the catch. Compulsory use of their e-mail forwarding and translation service is a common one, all of a sudden this so called free agency starts costing you money (they remove any reference to your or your ladies contact details to keep it that way, for...your protection... of course). Many of these ‘free’ agencies allow you to send 1 or 2 letters free, then you have to purchase services, well I guess that makes us a free agency too, as that is exactly what we do, but we do not try and trick you to make you think that you wont pay something for this. Some of these agencies charge the women to receive each letter and then charge them to translate it !! There is simply no such thing as a free agency, you will need to pay something whatever agency you use, the question is, who is honest with you from the start as opposed to agencies that try and trick you.

I must say that it staggers me that many people have the attitude that its wrong to pay a marriage agency. We don’t do this as a hobby, it’s our job !!!! We are professionals....do you work for free? I doubt it. Men want someone on their side in this process, they need someone to look after their best interests...we are here, you are not... BUT there seems to be a mantra that marriage agencies are bad. Really? Without us you wouldn’t have the chance to meet this or that girl, do you think they just magiced themselves onto the Internet? Do letters translate themselves? Of course not. Scammers tend to operate in anonymous agencies, ones where they just send their details in and are listed... or on the free sites where no one is watching them. Scammers do not want an agency knowing what they are doing, especially one run by a foreign man whose loyalties are pretty clear !! The bottom line is that you really do get what you pay for !! We WILL look after your best interests, there is never any conflict of loyalties, you should both want he same thing, but ultimately we are employed by YOU, and we don’t forget that.

How do I know if your not just another scam agency ?

Well, you don’t, it’s unlikely you will get on a plane and just walk through our office door in order to find out !!! If you did you would find out that we are very real. We are a tiny agency by Internet marriage agency standards, we have survived since 2000 in this ‘business’ (how I hate that description of what we do) and the only way we have managed to do that is by provided a really different type of service based agency. I am a very straightforward person, you will get a ‘no bullshit’ approach from me, some men appreciate it, some don’t.....but that’s the way we work and I don’t apologise for it!! You can search the Internet for stories about us, they are there.... Including a vicious attack by someone who has never been to Russia...Not many agencies would urge you to read negative stuff about them but go to Russian Women List and search their forums... I think I defended myself of all the groundless accusations... and it was nice to see ex clients WHO HAVE BEEN HERE WITH US come to our defence so I think their words speak volumes, they know the facts. We are very real and do our best to try and help both the men and the women, whose interests should be the same !!

I have heard all the horror stories about women asking for money, does it happen?

Absolutely it does, there are far too many scammers out there.....but not with girls from our agency. Mostly the letters go through us so we would see such a thing before you would. If that were to happen we would contact you about this situation immediately. If you are writing yourself to one of our girls NOT through us, then we would ask that you send that letter to us and we will deal with it, but it HAS NEVER HAPPENED....EVER!! with one of our girls.
